Journal Your Intention

When you journal your intention, you send out a powerful message to the universe. The more realistic you make it, the more powerful it is. If you are looking for a creative experience, check out Manifesting Abundance.

I tell my clients, the best way to journal your intention is to employ all your senses. For example, if you are trying to get a new job I would write…

I’m so happy and grateful now that I have my dream job. As I’m walking up to the front door, I can hear the birds      chirping their happy songs. My new friends gather around me and give me a big, warm congratulatory hug. The beautiful, peaceful colors of my office bring me peace and serenity. I close my eyes for a second and give the universe a big thank-you. Before I open them, I notice the wonderfully aromatic smell of coffee. My assistant knocks on the door and offers me a big steaming cup of gourmet coffee. As I settle into my comfortable leather chair, I run my hand over the cool mahogany desk. I am beyond thrilled I landed that big account yesterday. Life is good!

When you journal your intention, many people get stuck knowing what they really want. I like to use the prompt, “If the sky’s the limit, what is your dream job?” And I encourage people to go big. Don’t settle for the job that is immediately above you. If you could have any job you want, what would it be?

Sometimes it’s helpful to think about it in terms of what you don’t like about your current job. And don’t get hung up on the fact you can’t see how you could possibly get the job, either. Let yourself loose and journal your intention for the job of your dreams.

If you are still having trouble, try writing with your non-dominant hand. Before you protest and say you can’t, try it. This process is really good at silencing your inner critic.

Hey Debbie! I tried the writing with the non-dominant hand trick and that really worked! I’ve always had a hard time journaling intentions, but I liked that… thanks!

Hey Debbie,

What a brilliant idea! I used to write on my journal about the things happened and those that are running on my mind. Haven’t tried writing my intention like your example above and it’s really cool and helpful. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Gregg,

The written word has an amazing ability to affect change. Simply by writing down your intentions or goals has an uncanny ability to start the ball rolling. Let me know how it works out!

One Love,
Debbie
