Are you writing to impact change? If you are a blogger, you are definitely seen as a leader whether you are doing it consciously or not. My friend Heather over at Sophia Leadership collected beautiful writing tips and compiled the most delicious, fr*ee ebook. There is no opt-in. She’s just giving it away for free. And do you know what tickles me the most…. I’m in it.
You can see my page to the right. Isn’t the image beautiful? Heather took all the photos herself. (except the last page was taken by her daughter Maddy)
I’m so honored to be included in this beautiful and powerful book. The tips are fantastic and the images are beautiful. Did I mention it was fr*ee?
The ebook contains fr*ee tips to help your writing impact change. Click the link and make sure you leave Heather a comment.

Congratulations Debi, I downloaded the book and look forward to reviewing it later today. I love your advice about Toastmasters. I was in Toastmasters many years ago and I found it so worthwhile – my training and everything I learned there really helped me when I later ended up speaking to larger and larger groups.

The unexpected bonus I am receiving from Toastmasters are the amazing leadership skills. Not only are these skills essential for leading others, they can be very beneficial for leading ourselves.

Sounds like a digital book that could help a lot of people.
I wonder if it’s FREE or not (if only someone would tell us)…

I’ve been considering writing a book about how the car dealership dynamics have changed in the last few years. Do you think anyone would be interested?
Hi Dave,
Oh definitely. If you wrote it from the owner’s perspective, other owners would definitely be interested. And if you wrote it from the consumer perspective, you would have a very eager group. Car dealerships are always a bit of a mystery to consumers.

That’s a really inspiring post. For you to say that bloggers are somewhat leaders in their own ways. I just recently started blogging and lately I’m losing motivation. But then you said: “If you are a blogger, you are definitely seen as a leader whether you are doing it consciously or not.” that’s definitely inspiring. Thank you so much!
We are all leaders. Everyone is looking to someone else for answers. I really started being inspired to blog when I narrowed down my niche and focused on my passion. Passion is the best inspiration.

I don’t know whether it is the right place to discuss this, but I feel like writing this at this very moment! What do you think of Dofollow comments? I have been doing blog comments marketing for a few days now and you see, when I read all the comments on your page (or other people’s page for that matter!) I don’t know if they are all genuine and some of them sound more like ego pleasing comments to me.
Am I being negative here?
Or is my thinking a reflection of my own standard? I don’t know…
Because we are here to help people to be true to themselves and live with integrity I do not want to leave a comment saying :”great idea” “writing a e-book is so inspiring” or “great article”. Because doing so would be a bit hypocrite (not that I don’t like what you write don’t get me wrong but the truth is that I would just do it to get some backlinks!)…but at the same time, I need those backlinks and if I write something irrelevant or unpleasant you might delete my comment! loool So what do you think?
I guess the right thing to do would be to comment on post that I feel that I truly have something to add to, but if I do that I will spend the whole day trying to find 5 posts which are truly inspiring to me!
So instead I rather write about my thoughts so that we can have a real discussion! Because as long as you leave this comment on this page I will get a backlink…but this time though we may grow from the discussion, if you want to of course!
Give me your thoughts…
Hi Patrice,
I’m all about giving. Yes, some of the comments do not add anything to the post. As long as the authors make an attempt at authenticity, I will reward them with a link.
I am curious about you response to the post? What are your thoughts about writing to impact change?
One Love,
Debbie
My views on writing to impact change or anything that we do to impact change as a speaker, a writer, a coach, a spiritual leader…are that it is important not to create more problems, not to create more beliefs, more religions, more gurus, more teachers…etc…but to write in a way that allows the reader to connect with freedom by detaching from the content and/or the author so that they can look within and find the teacher within themselves!
This is not easy, when we write there is always someone misunderstanding the depth of the message, when we speak it is easy to have people interpreting what they hear with what they already believe thus not hearing the true message given!
As I said it is not an easy task, many have failed, many people who knew the truth have been killed because they were misunderstood, for those very reasons many have come to the conclusion that silence is often the best answer. Many have realized that writing inspiring content is not enough, it has to trigger a real change of consciousness within the reader otherwise all attempt to create a true change will fail because it creates a dependence, they want to read more and it is not good thing because they now rely on outside wisdom to set them free and dont search the truth within themselves! Many books gives a little quick fix but do not provide the right material to true freedom!
So I believe that the questioning has to be the most important part of the book, it has to push the readers to ask themselves the right questions, it has to push the reader to reflect on themselves and to challenge them with their beliefs until they reach the point of total uncertainty where ignorance goes hand in hand with wisdom.
So yeah, writing to impact change is a great responsibility which is not given to all especially that now our society have made an industry out of personal growth and there are now too many blind people leading other blind people! Many teach freedom but need people to be dependent on them to EXIST as teachers…so there is a conflict of interest! So now we have teachers, writers, speakers…on personal growth who have a spiritual ego!
So yeah, I am for writing to impact change but it has to be done through the heart not with some dangerous subtle hidden agenda that many have but are in denial about. If one wants to make a change he/she has to make sure that the change has already been made within themselves first.
Sorry for the long essays!
This digital book sounds like a great idea! Congrats and good luck!

I had social phobia for twenty years. My last hurdle to overcome came late last year when I was asked to do a public speech. I got through it, even got a standing ovation because I shared my story with the audience and the struggles which ensued in my life.
Shortly thereafter, I joined Toastmasters and now my speeches are way better than before!
Hi Eldridge,
I knew I liked you. I’m the current President of my Toastmasters Club. I just competed in the Humorous Speech Contest and the Evaluation Contest. I’m proud to say I had a strong showing and placed 2nd in both contests. I love Toastmasters. It’s like playing in the sandbox for grownups. You learn all about yourself and how to become a better person. I hope to meet you at a conference someday.

Thanks Debbie, I’m viewing the ebook right now and I have a favorite. It’s on page 8, the second part (#2).
“Once you think your piece is polished, go back
and cut 20 percent more. Most of us write too
much and you would be surprised how much you
can cut without losing your message. Your message
will be more clear because you’ve taken out all the
extraneous words…”
I don’t find that writing is one of my strengths and that’s probably the reason for my long posts
. This message from Michele Visser-Wikkerink made me think hard about cutting down my post content and providing message of clarity.
Thanks for introducing us to your friend Heather Plett. I’m going over to blog to let her know the images she took are AMAZING!

Hi Life Tips,
I love your essays. They are so well thought out and well presented. “Inspiring people to go within and ask their own questions.” That is a very intriguing thought. I agree that we all have wisdom inside of us. A great leader will encourage us to go within and find our own answers. We need to empower them. Thank you for the sage advice. It will stick with me a long time.
